We’re always crushing hard on our fave bloggers with their smokin’ style and killer writing skills.  But, being a fashion blogger isn’t all about looking fierce and travelling the world.  Wanna be the next Llymlrs or Kavita?  We’ve got the tips and tricks to get your blog up and running.

Getting Started

Think you’re killing it in the style stakes but no idea how to get your blog up and running?  We’ll have you sparking a Facebook frenzy in no time with these top tips to getting started.

How to become a fashion blogger

1. Picking the Right Name – We’re taking tips from the pros on this one.  Choose a name that encapsulates your personality and sets you apart from the rest.  Some of our faves include: Native Fox, The Haute Pursuit and Melon Lady.

Choosing the Right Platform for Your Blog

2. Choosing the Right Platform – If you’re a blogging newbie, pick a platform that’s easy to use and doesn’t need a lot of knowledge to get started.  Blogger is a fave with fashion bloggers as it’s free, easy to customise and simple to set up.

If you’re a a bit of a blogger pro like high street fashion lover Lily Melrose, you might want to try your hand at a self-hosted blog on a platform like WordPress.  You’ll have 100% control of your blog but you’ll need to create your own logo and have a theme added to the back end, so be prepared to hire a designer if you don’t know how to do it yourself.

defining your blog content

3. Defining Content – Stand out from the crowd with super-hot styling and a personality to match. Beaming blogger babe Lucy of Lulutrixabelle.com shows us how it’s done with clashing prints and cool co-ords combos.  Experiment with your blog posts and find your unique voice. It’s a saturated community so you don’t want to offer the same as everyone else.

Schedule Content for your Blog

4. Have a Plan – Being successful isn’t just about having a lust-have look.  Give your readers a reason to visit your blog by keeping it fresh with regular content.  Teen blogger Tolly Dolly Posh shows us how with her super-organised whiteboard and planning schedule.  Learn from your audience, give them what they want and just you’ll be a Twitter sensation in no time.

Come back next week when we’ll be giving you hints on how you can write great content that’ll have your readers coming back for more…
