Tomorrow marks International Women’s Day when us ladies untie to celebrate all things girl power and acknowledge the inspirational women from both past and present. We asked our fellow Missguided gals the women who inspire them and why…
Leah Stone – Web Administrator
Lena Dunham is such an inspiration to me. She’s only 27 and is the writer of award winning HBO program GIRLS. She is a funny, honest and intelligent writer and she promotes a healthy body image amongst young women. Her story lines are brutally honest, cringe worthy and completely relatable (for me anyway!): the perfect example of girl power.
Naomi Currie – PR Assistant
I’ve always been inspired by Audrey Hepburn for her grace, simple effortless style and amazing humanitarian work. To me she’s just the epitome of a lady. When I was younger her characters were the women I wanted to be like when I grew up: Holly Golightly, Sabrina, Eliza Doolittle and Jo Stockton.
Hannah Quarton – Buyer
I know its Cliché but I love everything Beyonce stands for as a woman. She made the curvaceous figure aspirational and she teaches women that you don’t need to rely on anyone else to get what you want out of life. My Grandma is also an inspiration to me; she is the happiest, most pleasant woman I know who has time for everyone.
Leonie Brown – Marketing Assistant
Victoria Beckham inspired us all with her Girl Power attitude as one fifth of the Spice Girls. She’s since gone on to reinvent herself as a respected international fashion designer (even picking up Designer Brand of the year at the British Fashion Awards), which has really inspired me personally.
Susie Whitby – Affiliate Marketing Assistant
In 2000, Natalie Massenet started up Net-a-porter in her spare bedroom. With over 9 million visitors a month Net-a-porter is now the world’s premier online luxury fashion destination. Being the digital marketing geek that I am, I think she’s the pioneer of online fashion and a real inspiration. She literally is ‘The woman who dresses the world’.
