Meet Jade, she is a model, artist, poet and Youtuber. She wants us to #LOVETHYNOSE.

“I’ve got a big nose and it makes me unique. Even though it’s something that I didn’t used to be so confident about, everyone’s different, everyone’s got their own beauty and you should embrace it.”

When Jade isn’t modelling, she is working on her art. She runs her own clothing brand, @PocaLondon, selling hand-painted denim and leather jackets. All of her pieces feature powerful female-inspired artwork and poetry. She owns her craft and promotes body positive messages while she does it.

We found out what body empowerment means to Jade

Q: Why is body empowerment important to you?

A: I think body empowerment is really important because the body is the temple. It’s you, it’s your home, you live in it all the time, you carry it around with you, so you’ve got to look after it. It’s more than about the physical, it’s the emotional too.

Q: Tell us something else you love about yourself…

A: I love my bum because it’s covered in stretch marks. I think I love it the most because I used to hate it, but it’s grown on me. It makes me feel super empowered when I see it on pictures.

Q: What would you say to someone who isn’t feeling confident in their own skin?

A: I would tell them- stop caring what people think. When you’re old and grey, you’re going to look back and think ‘why did I not love myself in this body?’. It’s so beautiful and your uniqueness makes you powerful.

Q: How did you learn to love your body?

A: Self-love is an inside job and it takes time. It’s not something that happens overnight. You have to look at yourself, be kind to yourself and say kind things inside and out. In the morning I always tell myself “I look amazing”. It’s always good to say it, even if you don’t believe it because one day it becomes the truth.

Q: What has the Missguided #LoveThySelf shoot meant to you?

A: I think I always go into something thinking that I’m going to look the worst, but when I saw everyone with different bodies, colours and hairstyles, I thought, ‘you know what, I am so unique and that makes me really beautiful’.
