It seems like we’ve barely blinked since New Year, but we are already nearly a third of the way through 2018. With summer fast approaching, festival season is nearly upon us. You’ve bought your tickets, got excited about the line-ups, and you probably have one of those countdown apps on your phone telling you exactly how many hours you have to wait until you’re partying in a field with a can of something cold in your hand. Now it’s time to work out what the hell you’re going to wear. Luckily, we’ve got you, babe. Here are our predictions for the biggest festival fashion trends of 2018, to help you work out what to wear to a festival.
Festivals are your chance to let your inner unicorn roam free. Glitter, sequins and gems are going to be EVERYWHERE in 2018. Obvs you can cover yourself from head to toe in glitter tattoos, body jewels and dazzling jewellery, but why stop there? Look for sequinned jackets, coloured chainmail, holographic lace-up bodies and sparkly crop tops for the ultimate rave-queen look.
Desert Gold Qween
We’re loving desert queen vibes this year, and are saying yes to everything golden and sunkissed. Go for floaty chiffon fabrics, muted colour tones, with gold accessories to look like you’re partying in California (even if you’re in a muddy field in the North West of England). Toughen up the look with leather.
This look always has us coming back for more. Crochet is the most enduring of all festival looks, but you can make it look up to date this year. Team your crochet crop top with leather shorts, or wear a metallic bra under a sheer crochet dress for sexy gladiator vibes.
Get the all in one look without having to wear a playsuit (because playsuits are seriously impractical for festivals). Go for quality fits and fabrics so you can re-wear the pieces as separates when the summer season is over. Florals are always a good shout for summer, but there are loads of other gorgeous patterns available too.
Western accessories have been popular all winter, and they aren’t going anywhere in 2018. For your festival look, amp the cowboy up a notch. Go for cut-off shorts, hankie tops, and cowboy boots. The best part about this style is you can make it as smart or as casual as you want with your accessories.
