Easy festival hair ideas you can do without straighteners
No heat? No problem. You guide to festival updoes.
Festival hair can be pretty tricky. You always get a vision in your head of cool curls and bouncy waves to finish off your look, but unfortunately tent-life doesn’t allow access to straighteners. We have rounded up some festival hair ideas that can be done without heat. All of these updos just require bobbles or bands, bobby pins and a whole lot of hairspray.
The half-up bubble braid
This simple hairstyle is cute and functional. It solves the issue of limp-hanging front pieces, by tying them back into a half-up-half-down style. All you need is plenty of bobbles or elastic ties and maybe some dry shampoo.
Messy low bun
This is an easy festival hair style that looks effortlessly cool. Tie your hair into a low bun and add some small plaits for some extra detail. Pull forward some front pieces to frame your face and secure with bobby pins.
These low braid buns just require two french plaits and two bobbles. Sprits your hair with dry shampoo to get rid of the festival grease, part into two and plait from the top downwards. Secure your plaits into low pigtails and twist into buns. Secure these with a bobble or clip and tug on the buns to give them a bit of volume.
Bandannas or headscarves
If your hair just simply isn’t playing ball, then throw on a bandanna or a headscarf. Tie it around the whole of your head like the image below, or take a square bandana, fold it in half and tie it underneath.
