We talk fashion blogging, fashion disasters and shooting the perfect OOTD with blogger babe and one-fourth of Confetti Crowd Lulutrixabelle…
Tell us about yourself…
So I’m a full time jack of all trades – I have my fingers in all the pies and I’ve turned my hobbies into a job which is SO FUN!
How long have you been blogging for?
I started blogging around 5 or 6 years ago so a pretty long time.
How did you get into it?
My mum actually used to blog about crafts and her car boot sale finds and I found it so weird. I would always say “who even reads this?!”. I started using Tumblr and became pretty obsessed, then moved onto a real blog and it just spiralled from there!
I think the reason my blog became so popular was my car boot sale hauls – people couldn’t believe I got such good clothes for so cheap!
How do you keep your content fresh?
I started travel blogging after I went travelling on my own, so being a fashion/lifestyle/travel blogger instead of just fashion means there’s always something new I can blog about.
What is Missguided about to you?
I have been a Missguided lover from the very beginning, and to me it’s always been THE place to get on trend fast fashion (like seriously how are you so quick) without spending a lot.
What’s your top tip for anyone looking to start a blog?
Just blog whatever you’re passionate about. Anyone can be a fashion blogger these days so you need to find your niche so that you stand out from the rest.
What’s your go-to outfit?
For a night out I usually go with a leather mini skirt, crop top, choker and bad boy heels every time. Its just so easy, sexy and sassy!
What are you wearing right now?
My pink fluffy dressing gown – working from home has its benefits!
Biggest fashion disaster?
Everything bad i’ve ever worn, I probably thought I looked really cool at the time, so we’ll just leave it there haha
What’s your favourite piece from New In and why?
This denim skirt is LIFE – it will become my autumn wardrobe staple. Oh the outfit possibilities!
How do you shoot the perfect OOTD?
I used to go into London once a week to shoot my blog photos but in the end it became really un-natural. I don’t live in a posh house in Kensington so it really doesn’t make sense for me – I’ve started taking it back to my brick wall that everyone knows Lulutrixabelle for! Good angles and lighting are key. Teach that Instagram husband!
How do you edit your photos?
I use Afterlight for my Instagram posts to enhance my photos – but not too much, there’s nothing worse than an over filtered picture!
Snapchat or Instagram?
This is tough as I’m obsessed with both, but I definitely owe some of my success to Instagram!
Who’s account gives you major Insta envy?
All those gals who seem to be forever travelling – like Tash Oakley! That needs to be me.
Who should we be following on Snapchat?
Probs just the usual hotties like Bella Hadid, beacause so hot (oh and hi The Weeknd)
Which emoji do you use the most? Definitely the pink heart or rainbow.
What does a day in the life of Lulutrixabelle look like?
I’m forever making to-do lists and most of them are along the lines of: edit videos for my YouTube channel, shoot for my Depop shop, location hunt and take blog photos locally, shoot for my photography portfolio, and the usual boring stuff like answer emails, chase up invoices. But a fun day would include going to a festival, meetings in London or of course working with my fellow Confetti Crowd gals (which is the best kind of work).
What’s your life motto?
No particular motto but I tell myself: just stop worrying about what might go wrong, stop comparing yourself to others and just LIVE in the now gurl!
Who would be in your ultimate girl gang?
My Confetti Crowd babes obvs – Heidi Petite, Tigerlilly & Helibells but if I had to recruit some new members it would be Riri, Gigi & Baddie Winkle obvs!
What’s on your summer playlist?
Right now I can’t stop listeing to – Stormzy – Birthday Girl, Zayn & Snakehips – Cruel
