From fashion designers to CEOs, these women prove that there is no need to rush your career.
In the age of social media, the pressure to be successful is overwhelming. It feels that everywhere you look, someone is buying a house, landing a dream job or living, what seems to be, a perfect life. It’s all too easy to compare yourself to the people you went to school or uni with, instead of focussing on your own timeline. Just to prove that there is no rush, these are just 5 of millions of amazing women that found success later in life.
Although it is hard to do, we need to stop putting timelines on our lives and judging our success by it. 1. Viola Davis

Viola established herself as a Hollywood icon, becoming the first African-American to achieve the “Triple Crown of Acting”. She was also named one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2012 and 2017 by Time Magazine.
2. Vera Wang
We all know Vera Wang for her beautiful designs and sought after wedding dresses, but you probs didn’t know that she didn’t design her first dress until she was 40. She was a figure skater and journalist in her earlier years, but always dreamed of fashion design, so she just went for it.
Lizzo may only be 32, but when you compare her to many other pop stars such as Billie Eilish and Ariana Grande, she achieved her career success later in life. Her first catwalk happened when Vivienne was 40, and featured the Pirate Collection. She has won British Designer of the year three times and was even awarded an OBE by Queen Elizabeth II making her Dame Vivienne Westwood.

Although Kerry started acting at the young age of 17, it took her a long time to get recognised by producers or directors. She was working in film and media for 8 years before she could afford to qualify for health insurance. She finally made her big break at the ages of 35, when she landed a role playing Olivia Pope in the TV series, Scandal.
