Choosing a workwear wardrobe can be difficult, you want to strike that perfect balance between professionalism and personality. Unlike working in an office full of hundreds of your peers, a teaching career is pretty different. Each day you have to stand up in front of 30 kids and demand their attention whilst still being approachable. Teacher outfits can vary massively on the school, the lessons and the activities for the day.

Take a look at some our our fave influencer inspo and top picks from the site RN.

Essentials for building your teacher wardrobe

Tailored trousers

Introduce some wide leg tailored trousers into your wardrobe. They can easily be styled with a plain tee, chunky belt and a pair of loafers, for a chic, yet professional outfit. Mix and match your jewellery and accessories, as well as broadening your colour combinations for a new look every day.

T-SHIRTS

You can’t go wrong with a good collection of t-shirts to add to your teaching wardrobe. Tuck them into trousers, midi skirts or layer them under strappy dresses. T-shirts are the easiest way to nail the smart/casual balance.

Mini day dresses

Mini day dresses might not seem like an obvious choice for workwear, but they can be easily transformed into something a little more suitable. Opt for a smock dress or floral tea dress and layer it under an oversized blazer in a range of contrasting colours.

Layering shirts

Oversized shirts are your hero when it comes to cool workwear apparel. They can be especially handy when it comes to the warmer weather. Wear them with the sleeves rolled up and open over a strappy top and a pair of wide leg trousers.

Midi and maxi dresses

You can’t go wrong with a long dress for teaching. Opt for something floral and floaty during the summer or throw a blazer over a ribbed knitted bodycon dress throughout the colder months.
