Tell us about yourself…

I’m Salt Ashes, an electronic/pop artist from Brighton. You’ll usually find me in black, drinking gin in the corner of a crowded room waiting for the right time to pounce.

What 5 travel essentials can’t you live without on tour?

Lip balm, ear plugs, a huge scarf, headphones, phone.

Your videos are amazing, what’s the inspiration?

Thank you. Initially the ideas or, at least, the vibe will come from the song itself. They each inspire some kind of feeling in me, whether it’s passion, love, fun… from that I will build my ideas. I do take a lot of my visual and lyrical inspiration from photography, contemporary dance and people surrounding also.

Who’s the coolest person you’ve met so far?

NAO – Such a talented, down to earth person.

What’s the best gig you have ever played?

It would have to be my Album launch party at Birthdays, London last July. It was the first proper headline that I’d played and with a sold out crowd the energy in there was insane. It was also a fulfilling moment in my career having just released my debut album.
