Sam Divine Q+A
What’s your favourite thing about hosting your KISS friday night slot?
Compiling all the music together to create a 2 hour party vibe and take people on a journey. Lockdown has been tough on everyone so if I can give them 2 hours of feel good vibes then I feel fulfilled. And being able to give up and coming artists a platform on national radio that also makes me very happy.
Where is your favourite venue to play and why?
Probably Ushuaia in Ibiza! I held a residency there for 4 years! It felt like home from home. I was on first name terms with everyone from the reception staff, glass collectors, bar staff to security. It really was a special family and I still miss it very much 7 years later. I gained a lot of experience there and made a lot friends. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
What do you wear to perform to feel confident?
As long as I’ve got a pair of J’s on my feet the rest irrelevant. Jordan’s make me feel confident.
What’s on the horizon for 2021?
I’ve worked a lot on myself this year so I want make sure I carry that on into 2021. Health is wealth after all. I’ve enrolled in a Mental Health First Aider course early next year which I can’t wait to get stuck into, it’s also something very close to my heart. I’m sat on tons of new music and I have jumped on Collabs with some of my fave artists . Some of these records have been in the making for well over a year. I say the longer you take to produce a record the longer it will stand the test of time. I’m not into making records that have a short shelf life. I also have a new Merch ranch dropping which I’ve been working on what feels like months. Excited to drop that. And on top of all of that I have a stacked diary obviously pending night clubs re opening. 2021 is looking strong.
