Tell us a bit about yourself?
Hey, I’m Kara, I’m a singer songwriter from North London and Im as passionate about listening to music as I am about making it.
Who inspires you?
Musically I’m inspired by the soul greats Aretha & Nina to more recently Amy and Lauryn. I am also massively inspired by strong women who aren’t afraid to take risks and have a go, which leads me to my Mum – the strongest person I know. When I was very young I didn’t always fit in with ‘convention’ and she was extremely fearless and always encouraged me to follow my heart.
What has been a highlight of 2018 so far?
Releasing my debut EP, supporting Rita Ora on her tour.
How do you feel confident?

Who would you love to collaborate with?
Col3trane, H.E.R, Daniel Caeser.
If you could wear one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I would forever be in a crop and jeans! Couldn’t live without them.
What do you love most about yourself?
I have off days and as women, we need to massively accept that we ALL DO and it’s totally norm! However, I’ve been told that’s my eyebrows are pretty good!
Do you have a life mantra or words that you live by?
Nothing that was really worth having every came easy, In any situation of life.
What would you say to your younger self?
Never allow people’s judgements and exclusion of you to define you or dim your light. Know that people who appreciate you will rise up through that and identify themselves to you.
Do you have any advice for girls looking to get into the music industry?
THERE ARE NO SHORTCUTS!
Which other artists are you playing on repeat at the moment?
Jazmine Sullivan as always, Anderson Paak who I discovered more recently is insane, ella mai, mahalia…
What is your number one fashion tip?
Always wear what YOU feel comfortable in because from that you will radiate confidence.
What is your goal for 2018?
For my music, my EP – Love Just Ain’t Enough to reach more people, for everyone to enjoy my shows and to keep growing into my own as an artist more and more every day.
