Q+A with Cindy Temi
How long have you been at The Beat?
6 months, I never thought I would be doing radio but was brought in by my co-host Miss P after meeting her at a basketball game. I’d been in TV and podcasting for a few years and Radio felt like the perfect addition to my O.A.P status.
What has been your most surreal career moment so far?
Getting to meet all the people I have done through media. Just mentioning the platforms, I work for and people wanting me to interview them is dope
Do you think enough is being done for women in the radio and music industry?
Re the music industry more so now than before, in the Afrobeats scene I would hope to see more female artists headlining shows. From a radio perspective I guess working at The Beat we’ve been fortunate enough not to face some of the challenges our peers may have before us, we are a pretty inclusive station.

Three words to describe your show for someone who has never listened before?
Vibes, Upbeat and Entertaining
Favourite teenage album growing up?
NSYNC – No Strings Attached
How have you had to adapt your work during the pandemic?
It has not been easy! The biggest challenge is maintaining the quality you would have if you were in the studio. Content wise – same fire baby! Although there are less things to speak about when you have not been active.

What do you like best about working with Miss P?
I like her positive vibes which make our shows literally flow off our energy.
What does a typical day in lockdown look like for you?
Spending several hours on social media seeking content then adjusting screen time limits in IG *welp* – Cooking too! I love to eat out and so lockdown has forced me to recreate some of my fave dishes. I usually start my day with a light walk/jog just to get some much-needed air.
What can we expect from the show in 2021?
More content from guests, our audience want to see more stories. There is a lot to be learned from other people’s experiences and stories. New music from up and coming female artists from across genres
What is your cohost’s worst habit?
Overthinking
