What is colour blocking?

Colour blocking involves using “blocks of colour” in your outfit to create a bold, eye-catching look that flatters your figure and highlights your best assets.

Figure flattering colour block

Colour blocking is also a useful tool to flatter your body and enhance your best assets, no matter your shape. Utilise darker blocks of colour to disguise areas that aren’t your fave, while using strong stripes of colour to create a slimming and elongating shape.

Monochromatic

For a trendy, monochromatic look, choose your fave colour and layer different shades to perfect the effect.

Matching colour family

To put it simply, utilise the rainbow method to figure out your fave colour family. All purple, blue and green shades are in the same family, and so are the yellow, orange, pink and red. Choose whether you are feeling warm or cool tones and have fun with your fit.

Contrasting tones

Go bold and choose colours from opposite ends of the rainbow to mix and match. For example, colours that are at opposite ends of the colour wheel like blue with orange, and yellow with purple for a bright and bold look.
