The countdown is officially on, it’s time to give your joggers a break because we are finally on our way to leaving lockdown. Following the government announcement last week, we have a timeline of how our Spring plans are gonna look. Starting from 8th March, up until 21st June, restrictions will be slowly lifted, meaning that Summer 2021 is gonna be back to normal.
Although the restriction dates are subject to change, we can still start planning our outfits for leaving lockdown. Starting with walks in the park and ending with holidays, nights out and festivals. Summer 2021, we are ready for you. We have some serious time to make up for and some serious outfits to plan. It’s time to make your grand exit out of lockdown, one phase at a time.
Please stay up to date with the laws, by checking the Gov UK website or a credible news source such as BBC.
Outfits for leaving lockdown
March 8th is the first lockdown lifting date. This consists of schools and colleges going back and the opportunity to meet one other person from outside your household in a public space.
From March 8th you can meet your best mate in the park for a coffee and a catch up, you can go for a walk with your lockdown Hinge match or you can have a couple of cheeky cans of gin and tonic with your friend on a bench.
On March 8th, you will want to wear something casual for your outdoor meeting, after all you are only going to the park. The temps will still be pretty low, so opt for a cosy coat, leggings or jeans and a pair of trainers.
March 8th must-haves
From the 29th March People will be allowed to meet outside, either with one other household or within the “rule of six”, this includes private gardens. It’s gonna be a little chilly for our usual BBQ attire of Summer dresses, sandals and denim jacket, so make sure you layer up. This will be your first opportunity to get dressed up, so just go for it. Wear a warm outfit that feels dressy and makes you feel like your best self. From heel boots and leather trousers, to jeans and a nice top, show everyone what they have been missing over the last year. Drinks around a firepit are calling our names.
With British weather being unpredictable as usual, opt for something warm, but still makes you feel dressed up.
March 29th must-haves
On April 12th the government plan to make big moves, including opening all shops, gyms, salons and outdoor hospitality.
This means that we can get back to some type of normality, fix our lockdown roots and finally head back to pubs and restaurants. Bottomless brunching and beer gardens are on the cards. It’s time to officially start planning outfits for leaving lockdown.
For April 12th you will probably wanna wear ‘jeans and a nice’ top kind of vibes. The perfect mix between smart and casual. Team an oversized satin shirt with wide leg boyfriend jeans or opt for a corset top and faux leather trousers.
April 12th must-haves
From May 17th, people can meet in groups of up to 30 outdoors. Just THINK of the days you can have in the park, the BBQs, the garden parties etc. We are READY. From May 17th six people or two households can also meet indoors and restaurants and pubs open their doors to indoor seating.
Aside from the masks, this will start to feel like life is back on track. It’s time to crack out the summer dresses, dust off those heels and start making Summer playlists.
Invest in some dressy outfits, sandals and Spring colours.
May 17th must-haves
All-going to plan, June 21st is the date we have been hoping and praying for. This is the proposed date for going back to normal. By that we mean- no more restrictions whatsoever. It’s hard to imagine, but we will legally be able to throw parties with all of our friends, go on holidays, drink in busy bars, dance in packed out nightclubs and even attend festivals. We have survived lockdown for almost a year now, we can make a few more months until freedom.
21st of June is the opportunity to go ALL OUT with the looks you have been lusting over throughout the year. No holding back. We are talking party dresses, co ords, leather trousers and more.
