After the summer we’ve had in the UK the past few months, August so far has been a bit of a let-down. Please come back sunshine, we miss you. But, we have news that might cheer you up. This weekend it’s a bank holiday. AND there’s heaps going on across the country, including loads of festivals. Can we get a hallelujah? If you’ve got a diary jam-packed full of plans, then you’d better start your weekend style planning ASAP. Here’s what you should be wearing for every bank holiday weekend eventuality, courtesy of some of our fave #babesofmissguided:

Whether it’s a family event or a boozy day-drinking sesh with all your mates, bank holiday weekend is prime barbecuing time. Casual is key for this weekend style, so denim is your perfect base. Mom jeans are ideal, as they give a bit more room for manoeuvre, and the high waisted style will hide your food baby when you overindulge. Of course, if you are loyal to your skinnies then they’re a great option too. Go for a super stretch style in light denim for a perfect springtime look. Finish off with a bodysuit and boots for cute but casual vibes.

Rooftop Drinks

Long weekends are made for day drinking in the sunshine, and there’s nowhere we’d rather do that than in a rooftop bar with a view. Depending on the venue, there will be different levels of glam required, but a safe bet for summer weekend style is always a pretty summer dress. If your rooftop bar is on the casj side of smart casual, then team with a pair of gladiator sandals and a crossbody bag. Or, if you want to up your style stakes, go for a pair of barely-there heels and a clutch. Finish with some statement earrings and huge sunglasses for IDGAF vibes.

Music festival season is getting into full swing, and there are loads on this bank holiday. The weather forecast is warning that this weekend could be wet wet wet, so be prepared for a mudbath and think practical with your packing. Don’t be afraid to opt for traditional festival outfits though: Go for teeny tiny shorts and a plunging swimsuit or bodysuit on top. Just be sure to finish off your look with wellies and a statement sequinned jacket, to give your look an extra edge and keep you warm. Roll up a rain mac into your bag too for extra cover in case the heavens open.

We don’t know what it is about being able to party on a Sunday, but it’s almost impossible to resist. If you’re off out on a classic bank holiday big night out, then you need to look absolutely fire. A sparkly dress is perfect for girl boss vibes and will make sure all eyes are on you. If you want to keep your look smart-casual, team your show-stopping dress with an oversized denim jacket and flat, chunky boots. Or go all out glam with barely-there sandals, sleek hair and a bright red lip to make sure you stand out from the crowd.

If in between all the partying, you’re fitting in a cute little picnic with the boyf, then wow girl – Your bank holiday is BUSY. A co-ord is the perfect summer style, and go for bright colours and patterns to really embrace the sunshine. If you’re traipsing through a field to get to your picnic spot and don’t fancy tottering along in heels, then don’t despair. Luckily for you, this outfit looks amazing with trainers. Throw on an oversized denim shirt as a jacket, and pile on the gold necklaces for an up-to-date layered effect.
