Meditation can be difficult to get into, especially if you are one of those people that can’t concentrate for more than 5 minutes. We all know the feeling of sitting there wondering whether your Hinge match has replied, what’s for dinner and what you’re gonna wear on Friday night. 1. Wear something comfortable

It may sound extra, but clothing is key when it comes to meditation. The more comfortable you feel, the easier it is to switch off. How are you expected to meditate with bra wire digging into your chest and jeans that keep riding down? Grab yourself a comfortable pair of leggings and a lightweight top.

2. Make time to meditate

Meditation is 100% easier if you are not in a rush. Make sure you dedicate a few hours to the cause. Not even the most zen yoga gurus can meditate if they know they need to leave the house in 15 minutes. It’s just not possible babe.

3. Make the most of apps and tech

Whilst your phone can be a distraction during meditation, it can also be really helpful (yes really). If you struggle to focus, try out apps such as Insight Timer or Headspace. Each app has loads of expert tips and guided sessions to help you master the art of meditation.

4. Learn to focus on your breathing

Breathing is a key player in the meditation game. Breath-focused meditation is one of the easiest ways to take your thoughts away from everyday life. Methods such as Alternate nostril breathing and Intermittent breath retention gives your brain something to focus on.

5.Take a walk

Forget what you’ve heard, meditation can be done anywhere. If you struggle to focus in a quiet room, roll up your yoga mat, slip into your trainers and go for a walk. Meditation is about the brain and the breathing, not about the setting.
