In case you didn’t hear, we have our own TV show. Inside Missguided: Made in Manchester is the new Channel 4 documentary starting on Wednesday 12th August. The tell-all series takes a look behind the scenes of our head office, as well as our staff parties, fashion shoots and more. Ever wondered what it is like to work for one of the world’s biggest fast fashion brands? Here’s your chance to find out. We caught up with our Senior Assistant Buyer, Lauren, to find out more about her role, her time at the company and her experience on camera.
Senior Assistant Buyer
How long have you been at Missguided?
1 year 5 months
Where did you previously work and how did you land the role at MG?
I previously worked at ASOS, I applied in Jan 2019, got the train and got myself to Manchester pretty quickly!
What is a day in the life like for you at work?
Mental but I love it! Not all my days are the same but that the best part!
How did you find being on camera?
I feel like they stalked me enough that they caught all the minute facial expressions I do and silly things I say that I am known for. I was definitely confused at first but quickly got over it, like talking in the mirror
What’s your favourite part of the job?
I’m a natural hoarder so this is the dream, I work in a closet.
What keeps you motivated?
That I’m making people happy in my clothes.
What was the trickiest project you’ve worked on and why?
I used to work on the Babes on a Budget package which is a mental concept – very quick turnaround, complete trust in the supplier to nail the concept at such a low budget!
What is your favourite Missguided Campaign and why?
The Party campaign last AW because my product was in it, but a close 2nd is the Make your Mark campaign, it made me want to work for Missguided because they really focussed on diversity particularly for the plus size humans like myself.
