We caught up with leading cast member and our Senior Creative and Campaign manager and Creative Director, Treasure Evans.
Senior Creative and Campaign Manager / Creative Director
How long have you been at Missguided?
Nearly 5 years (they have aged me terribly)
Where did you previously work and how did you land the role at MG?
I used to work as a Visual and Creative for another brand and then applied for a role at Missguided. I did a super huge brand bible for them, which was just my whole brain in a portfolio, no joke about 70 pages long haha. I got hired pretty much on the spot. Never looked back. Best thing that ever happened to me.
I just worked really f*cking hard. I have worked all the hours under the sun, never shied away from a challenge and put everything I have into my job. I have worked like this every single day to get where I am now. And I honestly f*cking LOVE my job.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
The freedom. Working for a brand that really does empower women, to reach their potential is the most liberating thing about my role. To be allowed to be completely and utterly myself. 100% authenticity is encouraged. And I find that really liberating.
What is a day in the life like for you at work?
WILD haha. And long. LOL. Very varied to be honest. I come up with all the concepts for the shoots, and the campaigns and the PR hooks for the brand. So my day can consist of anything from shooting, to directing, to editing, to concept creation, to budgets, to back-to-back brand meetings. I also do set designing, talent searching and even shooting ASMR occasionally. Always varied. Always a challenge. Always worth it though.
How did you find being on camera?
Very surreal. Im quite a hyper person as a general thing, so a camera following me around for 12 months just added to that. Bloody dreading seeing the footage. I honestly forget how weird I am until I see the footage and I’m like “oh gaaawd why am I like this?!”. I have a love and hate relationship with the camera some days you forget they are there, other days they are literally in your face. So, depending on how stressed I am depends on how much I like being filmed haha.
But the crew were awesome, made some really good mates while we shot this. Everything is a blessing at the minute and not taking it for granted.
What keeps you motivated?
The drive to do better. The drive to hit those numbers. The drive to keep setting the bar and then smashing through it. To keep the brand relevant. And moving forward. To stand for something. For what we do to mean something. And to create campaigns that position the brand, and our views, and ourselves, where we want to be.
To work with amazing like minded humans, who feed off each other. Everything keeps me motivated. Im a work junkie. The good, the bad and the ugly. I’m down for it. All of it makes me wanna do better, daily.
What is your favourite Missguided Campaign and why?
I couldn’t never in a million years pick one. They all mean so much to me for so many different reasons.
The LOVE THY SELF campaign is so close to my heart because I can’t tell you how much love and light those powerful women brought to the room. And the energy was something to be recognised.
The talent that were part of that campaign embodied everything that I think and feel and want for the brand and I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful group of women to surround myself with and couldn’t be prouder to have them as the face of the brand.
But also… About Last Night… the party campaign we did last year, that was also a turning point for us as a brand. That video, that campaign… it sets my soul on FIRE!!!!! That was the longest few shoot days of my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Everything about that video is me. Its my soul. Its my brain. Its my heart. And I was with some of my most favourite humans, who are also some of my closest friends and we were all just so IN IT. There’s a real sense of love and family and support on shoots and working with people that just want to see your vision come to life is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. Being the creative director and just owning the shoots, is my happy place.
